Skills That Win Awards

We are thrilled to be a part of the Wayne County Penn State Extension 4-H Science of Agriculture Challenge team’s project. They won 1st place the state 4-H Science of Agriculture Challenge Competition in 2019. The Wayne County team developed an Ag Safety Device consisting of a handheld radio call system to alert someone at a home base station a need for help. The team is mentored by Tony Komar, local entrepreneur and Siemens System Engineer. Tony taught the team the open-source design program called Capella which they used to design their product. Their device was prototyped at the Stourbridge Project where they received specialized training and access to equipment and technology.

Tony Komar went on to work with the University of Michigan’s aerospace engineering students and helped develop a groundbreaking course in MBSE. Siemens solutions and expertise help develop a groundbreaking course in MBSE’.
